Seven deployment questions
01

Can data leave its boundary?

02

How will identity integrate?

03

Where will inference run?

04

How will systems connect?

05

Who owns upgrades and incidents?

06

How will capacity scale?

07

How will data and configuration exit?

Private deployment is not automatically safer

SaaS can fit teams that value managed operations and whose data policy allows it. Private deployment fits explicit data-boundary, integration, or model-control needs when the organization can own monitoring, patches, capacity, backup, and recovery. Both require access control and audit.

Draw the actual data and identity path

Map sources, query proxy, semantics, inference, logs, cache, exports, and notifications. Prompts and summaries may be sensitive even when the database stays internal. Define identity mapping, transfers, and revocation early.

Compare model, integration, and upgrade ownership

SaaS usually updates faster but requires provider, retention, region, and change review. Private systems offer network and model control but return dependency and security maintenance to the enterprise. AskTable.ai supports SaaS and private-deployment directions; exact terms require confirmation.

Use total ownership and exit tests

Count license, compute, network, security review, implementation, monitoring, backup, on-call, training, and semantic maintenance. Verify data ownership, version support, recovery objectives, configuration export, account closure, and deletion at contract end.
